Nyasa Big Bullets on Monday completed the signing of Aziz Mwakifuna from Karonga United.
The defending midfielder signed a three-year contract that will see him at The People’s Team until 2022.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Mwakifuna, 19, said he was expecting a lot becoming a Bullets player.
“I can’t wait to join my fellow players and play for the team. My expectations are really good; I think this team is a big team in Malawi and I can’t wait to win games and trophies,” he told us in an exclusive interview.
The player, who can also play in attacking midfield, said he was not under pressure joining Kalisto Pasuwa’s side, the biggest football club in Malawi.
“It doesn’t give me pressure. I believe in myself and I know what I am doing. Football is my life and I think I am going to do better,” said the new Bullets signing, adding “I can’t talk much [to the supporters], but I will show them on the pitch.”
Mwakifuna had been with the northern region TNM Super League club for close to three seasons before joining The People’s Team and played for full 90 minutes as Karonga United lost 5-0 to Bullets in a league encounter at Kamuzu Stadium two weeks ago.
