Striker Hassan Kajoke was on the prowl on Wednesday scoring eight goals as Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves thrashed Nsanama FC 19-0 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
His contribution has not only helped Bullets Reserves move two places up to second position in the 22-team Chitetezo Mbaula Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) Premier League but also made the 20-year-old a leading scorer with 35 goals, five ahead of second top scorer Fatsani Chilikumtima of Nyasa United and nine in front of third-best Emmanuel Lino of Hangover FC.
With the latest thumping victory, Bullets Reserves have tied with Hangover on 82 points and Cobbe Barracks but they are second due to a superior goal difference of 75, which is 18 better than third-placed Hangover and 25 better than fourth-positioned Cobbe.
Ntopwa FC are still at the summit of the table with 86 points from 38 games. However, Bullets Reserves have the advantage to overtake the leaders as they have played two games less. Hangover and Cobbe have played 38 and 39 games, respectively.
On Wednesday, Sheriff Maida and Alex Tsamba achieved a hat-trick each for Bullets Reserves but it was Kajoke’s name that reverberated around the stadium.
“It is my dream to win the golden boot award and I am happy that I am on the right track to achieving the feat,” he said. Solomon Manda, The Nation.
