Venues for the Carlsberg Cup semi-final matches have been decided and Nyasa Big Bullets will play Masters Security in Lilongwe.

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) on Tuesday made an announcement that Bullets’ match against Masters will be played at the Civo Stadium.

The game, which is semi-final one of the Carlsberg Cup this year, is scheduled to be played on Saturday, October 6.

Semi-final two, which involves SRFA Premier Division side Hangover Hammers and TNM Super League holders BE Forward Wanderers, will be played at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday, 7 October.

There were expectations among soccer followers that the two matches would be played in Blantyre as the final is slated to be played in Liongwe, but FAM’s communication, signed by chief executive officer Alfred Gunda, released Tuesday afternoon says otherwise.

Bullets, the Carlsberg Cup holders, beat Red Lions in quarter-final one played at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday, while Hangover beat Blue Eagles at Balaka Stadium.

To reach the semis, Masters Security beat MAFCO at Civo Stadium on Sunday, while last year’s runners up, BE Forward Wanderers knocked out Tigers FC at Kamuzu Stadium the same day.

The Carlsberg Cup final will be staged at the Bingu National Stadium on October 20, as indicated by FAM.
